Stilbaai, also known as the Bay of Sleeping Beauty

Situated along the banks of the Goukou River estuary where it meets the Indian Ocean on the Southern Cape Coast of South Africa, these warm coast are ideal for surfing and swimming.

Stilbaai is part of what is traditionally known as the Whalecoast, stretching from Witsand and Gourits Mouth and boasts the highest annual gathering of whales in the world between July and October.

  • Feeding of Eels - Located at the Stilbaai Tourism bureau is a pond, fed by a natural fountain, in which indigenous fresh-water eels have been living over generations.
